Durham Catholic District School Board Appoints Richard Damianopoulos as Trustee for the Townships of Uxbridge, Scugog and Brock

At a public meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2020, the Durham Catholic District School Board of Trustees appointed Richard Damianopoulos as Trustee for the Townships of Uxbridge, Scugog and Brock.

A devoted husband and father, Mr. Damianopoulos is actively involved in Catholic Ministry at Sacred Heart Parish in the Township of Uxbridge; and an advocate for Catholic education in his community. 

“We are pleased to welcome Richard Damianopoulos to the Board of Trustees. His dedication to the Catholic community and passion for advocacy will complement our team as we work together to provide opportunities that meet the wide range of needs of our diverse learners,” said Janice Oldman, Chair of the Board. 

“Thank you to the Board of Trustees for placing your confidence in me. I look forward to serving the people of Uxbridge, Scugog and Brock,” Mr. Damianopoulos said in his address to trustees upon being the selected candidate. 

During the meeting, seven candidates delivered prepared speeches to the Board of Trustees, highlighting the reasons why he or she should be selected. The selection was made by trustees in an open voting session which followed the presentations.
