On Saturday, May 27, over 1,000 people came by the DCDSB Student Art Exhibit at Pickering Artfest.
Many visitors claimed that this was their favourite annual stop from the over 90 booths that were set-up in Esplanade Park on a gorgeous day. They were amazed by our talented DCDSB students.
Thanks to teachers at; St. Mary, St. Monica, St. Patrick, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Josephine Bakhita, St. Bernadette, St. Luke. Father Leo J. Austin and Msgr. Paul Dwyer that submitted over 40 pieces of student art.
Many of the proud artists and their families attended this annual event.
Also showcasing their artistic talents was the Father Leo J. Austin Catholic Secondary School band, "Life of Exile." They rocked the festival with a half hour set that included "Enter Sandman" and "We're not Going to Take it!" Thanks goes out to DCDSB educator Mr. Iannuzzi who helped his music students' set-up and take down their equipment.
