Advent wreath and prayer table The Advent season has arrived and as a Catholic community our schools and offices are alive with hope, love, joy and peace . Students and staff are busy decorating their classrooms, offices and homes to brighten their spaces for Christmas. Three male students building a compost bin Grade 8 students at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School are working on a number of projects to rejuvenate their school’s courtyard area. The students began working on the experiential learning opportunity in Grade 7 and brainstormed ways to utilize the unsafe and not used space as a new outdoor classroom for the school community.

Canadian and Metis flagsLast week, students from Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School and staff from the Durham Catholic District School Board joined the Métis Council of Durham Region in a flag raising in honour of today, Louis Riel Day. Students helping to plant a tree in the school yardOn Tuesday, November 10, 2020, students and staff at St. Leo Catholic School celebrated the feast day of St. Leo by planting trees in their school yard. The tree planting was made possible due to the generous donations of the TD Friends of the Environment and will contribute to students’ learning as they enjoy the new outdoor area.
