Throughout the month of November, the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) pays our respects to the over 2.3 million Canadians who have served our country, and continue to serve, in times of war, conflict and peace. On Indigenous Veterans Day on November 8, and Remembrance Day on November 11, we will honour all those who fought for Canada in the First World War, Second World War Korean War, and all who have served since then.

In honour of Indigenous Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, we invite members of our Durham Catholic learning community to share the name(s) of those in current or past service that you will be thinking of this November. The names will be displayed on the board’s website and on the digital sign located in front of the DCDSB Catholic Education Centre (650 Rossland Rd. E, Oshawa, ON), from November 8-12, 2024.

If you would like to participate, please complete the form by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

In addition to our community tribute to our veterans, students and staff will be participating in liturgies, learning, and activities at the school level to show gratitude and respect for all Veterans who lost their lives while fighting to protect the freedoms and privileges we enjoy today. Let us never forget the sacrifices they made and the importance of keeping their legacies alive.
