Every two years, the School Climate Survey is conducted as part of our commitment to safe, inclusive, and welcoming schools. The survey is a requirement of the Ministry of Education as part of the Safe and Accepting Schools initiative.
In keeping with our goals to improve student learning, advance human rights and equity, and support faith and well-being, we are planning a School Climate survey to collect input from our students, parents/guardians/caregivers and staff about the attitudes and practices associated with our schools.
The feedback and thoughts from our learning community will be collected through an anonymous and confidential electronic survey. During Bullying Prevention and Intervention Week (November 18-22, 2024), students in Grades 4 to 12 will be provided class time to complete the online survey at school. A preview of the questions from all four surveys (Grade 4-6 survey, Grade 7- 12 survey, staff survey, and parent/guardian/caregiver survey) is available below. Please note the surveys are completely anonymous and include some demographic data collection based on the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Parents and guardians who do not wish for their child/ren to participate in the survey are asked to contact their school principal(s) to opt out.
The data gathered from the survey will help us understand to what extent students, staff and families feel their school promotes safe and inclusive learning environments and positive behaviour.
A copy of the survey questions are available below for students, families and staff to view the questions in advance.
If you have questions about the School Climate Survey, please contact your school.
